Our attorneys function as embedded legal partners — handling the day-to-day legal work of in-house teams without the overhead of a full-time hire. The Role
We are hiring an Associate Attorney to join our fractional general counsel practice out of our West Palm Beach office. You will serve as outside (and often embedded) counsel to a portfolio of business clients, functioning as their go-to legal contact across the full range of issues a growing company faces. Employment and labor will be a meaningful component of your practice, but the role is fundamentally a generalist in-house seat — delivered across multiple clients.
This is a substantive role with meaningful client contact, real ownership of matters, and the opportunity to help shape a growing practice.
Responsibilities
- Serve as day-to-day legal contact for a portfolio of fractional GC clients, fielding business questions and providing practical, real-time legal guidance
- Draft, review, and negotiate the commercial agreements that run a business: MSAs, SaaS and software agreements, vendor and supplier contracts, NDAs, statements of work, and customer-facing terms
- Advise on the employment and labor lifecycle, including offer letters, employment and contractor agreements, restrictive covenants, handbooks, separations, classification, wage and hour, leave, and accommodations
- Counsel clients on corporate governance, entity matters, equity issuances, board and shareholder actions, and routine corporate housekeeping
- Coordinate with litigation counsel on disputes, demand letters, EEOC/FCHR charges, and pre-litigation matters
- Help build durable client relationships and contribute to the growth of the fractional GC practice
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of practice as a licensed attorney
- Active license to practice law in Florida and in good standing with The Florida Bar
- Strong commercial drafting skills and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice
- Sound professional judgment and the ability to work independently in a small-firm environment
Preferred
- Experience advising venture-backed startups, SMBs, or middle-market companies
- Familiarity with multi-state employment compliance
- Prior in-house experience (as in-house counsel, secondment, or equivalent role)
