Associate Attorney Jobs in San Pedro, CA at Frost Law Firm, PC
DUTIES:
Performs clerical and secretarial tasks to support department operations, including preparing legal documents, maintaining files, compiling data, and generating reports.
Provides tactful assistance to the public in person and over the phone.
Interacts with court personnel regarding criminal cases.
Works collaboratively with staff, law enforcement, and the public to ensure efficient information flow and adherence to court schedules.
Manages court hearing schedules affecting Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys.
Maintains task logs and performs data entry.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in secretarial science or criminal justice and one year of paid, full-time secretarial/clerical experience;
OR
High school diploma or equivalent and three years paid full-time secretarial/clerical experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Familiar with standard office procedures and secretarial duties.
Thorough understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
Able to maintain focus and productivity in a high-interruption environment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license throughout the course of employment.
Candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, including drug testing prior to employment.
A background check will be performed, and employees will be fingerprinted.
TYPING REQUIREMENT:
Must have a typing speed of 40 words per minute net. If you have not taken a typing test with Berrien County, please contact Personnel by phone or email to schedule one.
