A well-established and rapidly growing litigation defense firm is seeking a forward-thinking Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join its team. This is a mostly remote role with occasional travel required for hearings, depositions, client meetings, and in-office collaboration. The firm is recognized for providing high-quality defense services to insurance carriers, employers, and third-party administrators, along with a strong commitment to training, development, and industry leadership.
Attorneys in this role manage cases from inception through resolution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that emphasizes proactive strategy and strong client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters from intake through resolution
- Handle all phases of litigation including discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, and trials as needed
- Develop and execute effective case strategies in partnership with clients and internal teams
- Work directly with insurance carriers, employers, and third-party administrators to provide timely updates and recommendations
- Draft pleadings, motions, reports, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare case analysis as needed
- Appear at hearings, depositions, and administrative proceedings
- Maintain proactive communication and ensure efficient, deadline-driven case management
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the State Bar of California
- Prior experience in workers’ compensation defense preferred, though strong litigation backgrounds will be considered
- Strong research, writing, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume litigation environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to practice proactive and strategic case management
