The Strong Firm P.C. is a boutique business/transactional law firm located in Waterway Square in The Woodlands, Texas. The firm was founded in 2004 by Managing Shareholder, Bret L. Strong who has held ties to The Woodlands community for over 30 years. The firm was intentionally designed to serve clients locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally with a “high-touch” client-focused practice. Clients range from Fortune 500 companies to local sole proprietor ships.
The firm is seeking an exceptional Associate Attorney to add to our team! The position opportunity is for an experienced litigation associate (2-5 year) handling all facets of commercial and civil disputes with exposure to each of our 7 practice areas including:
Real Estate Law, Business Law, Oil, Gas & Energy Law, Estate Planning & Probate Law, Commercial Litigation and Disputes, Business Mediation, and Employment Law.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team on management of busy litigation docket
Research and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, and motions
Conduct comprehensive legal analysis and case evaluation to provide strategic options for client
Prepare for and attend client meetings, depositions, mediations, court hearings, and trial
Handle legal disputes in general business, real estate, construction, employment, and oil and gas related matters
Demonstrate strong skills in management, communication, and service of clients
Develop business in core practice areas (litigation a must)
Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
Meet minimum of 1800 billable hours annually (150 hours/month)
Efficiently handle multiple assignments and oversee litigation docket
Involvement in firm activities and community activities to build relationships externally
Develop and maintain understanding of our team-focused environment and essential skills and tasks related to effective ownership of firm reputation and profitability
Develop a professional understanding of all of the firm’s practice areas and desire to become an expert in litigation as a core practice
Be a team player able to work well and communicate effectively (internally and externally)
Qualifications:
License to practice law in Texas
2-5+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts
Must have a dedicated work ethic and passion to provide exceptional client service and want to report to an amazing office at 24 Waterway every day (no remote work)
Connection to industries in the energy, real estate, construction, and/or general business
Strong interpersonal skills (with clients and internally with staff)
Connection to local community in The Woodlands through participation in civic and non-profit organizations
Ability to effectively manage administrative duties commensurate with law practice
Qualifications to Make You Stand Out and Increase Potential Compensation:
Top 25% of law school class
A plus is portable business and/or existing relationships with clients in core practice areas of firm (real estate, business law, oil and gas, estate planning and probate, business mediation, employment law, and commercial disputes/litigation)
Advanced technical skills in one or more of our core practice areas
