Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its business and commercial litigation team. The successful candidate will take on significant responsibilities from day one, working on a wide range of complex litigation matters while receiving support from a team of experienced professionals.
Duties:
Represent clients in state and federal court, handling business, corporate, commercial, and civil litigation cases.
Manage a diverse caseload from inception to resolution.
Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery responses.
Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums in support of or opposition to motions.
Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients in various industries.
Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
Handle complex legal issues, requiring critical thinking and problem-solving.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients to support business growth.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in state and federal litigation.
Active Bar membership in good standing in Florida.
Courtroom experience is required.
Strong understanding of state and federal civil procedures.
Experience in case management, legal research, and drafting motions and discovery requests.
Ability to handle a moderate to heavy caseload.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a legal team.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active membership in the Florida Bar.
Admission to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida is preferred.
