We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a comprehensive understanding of legal terminology and procedures. This role is crucial in supporting attorneys with administrative tasks, ensuring that all legal documents are prepared accurately and efficiently. A background in various areas of law, including workers’ compensation, estate planning, family law, and litigation, will be highly beneficial.
Responsibilities
Prepare and proofread legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
Manage case files and maintain document management systems to ensure easy access to information.
Assist attorneys with trial preparation and litigation processes.
Conduct legal research as needed to support ongoing cases.
Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings for attorneys.
Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals.
Organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems for case documentation.
Provide administrative support in areas such as estate planning and family law matters.
Skills
Proficient in proofreading to ensure accuracy in all legal documents.
Knowledge of workers’ compensation law and the ability to assist in litigation processes.
Familiarity with estate planning procedures and documentation.
Strong legal administrative skills with experience in managing contracts.
Ability to write clearly and concisely for various legal communications.
Experience as a paralegal is a plus but not required.
Proficient in using document management systems for efficient file organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
