Job Title:

Associate Attorney (For Business/Litigation)

Under the direction of the principal attorney, an associate attorney must have the ability to work effectively as a team member while also handling an individual caseload. The role requires a strong commitment to achieving excellent results for clients through intelligent and aggressive advocacy. An associate attorney must demonstrate a strong work ethic, high motivation, willingness to work hard, and a positive attitude, with the ability to work well with diverse individuals.

Leadership skills, excellent oral advocacy, thorough writing, and solid negotiation skills are essential.

This position is classified as Exempt.

Reporting Relationship

Associate attorneys work under the supervision of the Managing Partner/Firm Owner. Their employment is managed by the Managing Partner.

Authority

Must be licensed to practice law in Florida with The Florida Bar.

Responsibilities

Manage a large caseload from inception through resolution.

Draft and file pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; conduct legal research.

Attend depositions, prepare witnesses, handle court hearings and trials as assigned.

Develop strategies, advise clients, and serve as the primary contact.

Take or monitor statements, handle case decisions independently.

Communicate regularly with clients and other parties to advance cases.

Provide leadership to paralegals and legal assistants.

Create and implement business development plans, including networking, writing, and speaking engagements.

Participate in team meetings and case reviews.

Build and maintain client relationships.

Analyze legal issues and documentation.

Maintain excellent rapport with clients through communication and advisement.

Daily Tasks

Review reminders and calendar items, prioritize workload.

Complete assigned tasks, respond to emails and calls.

Organize case information, draft correspondence and legal documents.

Prepare for meetings, depositions, and court appearances.

Weekly Tasks

Meet with legal team for case updates.

Update clients on case status.

Monthly Tasks

Attend case review meetings, update records.

Meet settlement and demand goals.

Education

& Experience

Graduate of an accredited law school, licensed in Florida.

4-6 years of business litigation experience.

In good standing with The Florida Bar.

Trial experience a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 based on experience.

90-day probationary period.

Vacation: 3 weeks (120 hours) post-probation.

Sick leave: 1 week (40 hours) post-probation.

Health benefits, including Medical, Vision, Dental, with 75% employer-paid premiums.

12 paid holidays annually.
