Job Summary:

The General Liability Attorney provides legal representation and counsel for clients in matters related to general liability, including claims of negligence, bodily injury, property damage, and other civil liabilities. This role requires expertise in drafting and reviewing contracts, defending claims, and providing strategic guidance to minimize risk exposure for businesses and individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Representation: Represent clients in general liability claims, including defending lawsuits, conducting trials, and negotiating settlements.

Legal Research: Conduct legal research to analyze and understand current laws and regulations governing general liability and associated claims.

Contract Review and Drafting: Review and draft contracts, liability waivers, and other documents to help clients mitigate liability risks.

Claims Defense: Advise and defend clients facing claims related to personal injury, property damage, product liability, and other general liability matters.

Litigation Management: Handle litigation from pre-trial through settlement or verdict, including drafting pleadings, motions, and responses.

Risk Mitigation: Provide legal advice to businesses and individuals on how to manage and minimize exposure to liability through policies, insurance, and operational practices.

Client Communication: Communicate with clients regularly, providing updates on case status, advising on legal strategies, and ensuring clients’ needs are met.

Court Appearances: Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations as needed.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in general liability law or related practice areas.

Strong knowledge of liability laws, tort law, and risk management practices.

Proven experience in litigation and trial proceedings.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
