Job Summary:
Firm X is a mid-sized general practice law firm with offices in the NJ/NY Metropolitan area seeking a Litigation Associate for their Parsippany, NJ office.
Responsibilities:
Represent clients in civil litigation, administrative proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
Conduct legal research and advise clients.
Overseeing or processing E-filing in State and Federal Courts.
Negotiate settlements and plea bargains.
Coordinate with paralegals and staff to prepare cases, meetings and other client requirements.
Conducting client consultation, intakes and communicating with clients regarding case status, legal strategy, and other related matters.
Draft and revise all legal filings including motions, briefs, answers, due process petitions, contracts, resolutions, settlement agreements, and other legal pleadings/documents as required.
Requirements:
Two (2+) years of Litigation experience
Defending and other claims on behalf of large, self-insured corporations, insurance companies and public entities.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
New Jersey Bar Admissions required
Trial experience is a plus and the ideal person has proficient research and writing skills and experience in representing public and private clients.
Title 59, Federal Court experience in civil rights cases and New York admission are also pluses.
Ability to utilize advanced features of Microsoft Office suite, Coyote Analytics, I Manage, Westlaw and other online legal research platforms.
Some travel required as dictated by client and firm obligations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
