Litigation Docket Analyst

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, an Am Law 100 law firm with more than 850 lawyers, is seeking a Litigation Docket Analyst to join our team!

This unique position offers a qualified individual the opportunity for increased responsibility and expansion of their docketing skills in a variety of practice areas. The successful candidate will have an extensive legal background and possess a strong knowledge of court rules and civil procedure. The Litigation Docket Analyst reports to the Litigation Docket Manager and will assist the Litigation Docket Administrator as directed for assigned daily docketing tasks and additional projects. The candidate must be an organized self-starter with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills who is eager to become a part of our dynamic team. Candidates should possess a strong attention to detail, and excellent grammatical and language skills with consistent accuracy in daily functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance of the firm’s litigation docket calendar, including:
Analyzing documents to determine deadlines using applicable jurisdictional court rules in the firm’s docketing software.
Recognizing and resolving conflicting data prior to entry.
Verifying the accuracy of docketed events and deadlines generated.
Generating and distributing all routine and/or customized litigation docket reports.
Providing guidance to attorneys and legal staff on understanding the content of docketing reports.
Attending and participating in Docketing Department team virtual meetings.
Troubleshooting docketing issues.
Assisting the Dockets Team with projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Bachelor’s/Associates Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
Two or more years previous docketing experience strongly preferred; 3+ years previous experience in a legal environment may be considered in lieu of docketing experience.
Experience with CompuLaw or other rules-based automated docketing system strongly preferred.
Proficiency in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, Excel and a Document Management System (DMS).
Familiarity with PACER, PacerPro and other legal resources or websites to obtain case related data.
Strong knowledge of court rules and civil procedure.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with a consistent high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment, but also as a flexible team member

COMPENSATION: $45,000-$91,000 is the estimated national average. Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
