Role Description This full-time, on-site Associate role is based in Palm Desert, CA. The Associate will handle a caseload under the supervision of senior attorneys, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, analyzing case law and statutes, meeting with clients, preparing them for depositions and hearings, and maintaining accurate case files. The role also involves attending court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences, as well as collaborating with colleagues on case strategy and trial preparation. The Associate is expected to manage deadlines, communicate regularly with clients and opposing counsel, and contribute to the firm’s overall efficiency and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Experience or strong interest in civil litigation, including drafting legal documents, conducting discovery, and appearing in court.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and techniques, including case law analysis and statutory interpretation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity in drafting and client interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to ethical practice, professional integrity, and respectful service to clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfort with basic office technology and case management software; willingness to learn new systems as needed.
- Prior law firm or litigation experience, internships, or clerkships are beneficial but not strictly required.
