The Role
As an Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of transactions, developing financial models, and conducting due diligence on power and infrastructure projects. This position offers an opportunity to grow within an experienced team, working on impactful projects in renewable energy and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Support: Assist in structuring and executing project finance and investment deals, including preparing investment memorandums, presentations, and reports.
Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to assess the commercial viability of projects and evaluate investment opportunities.
Due Diligence: Conduct detailed project assessments, including technical, financial, and legal reviews, to identify risks and opportunities.
Market Research: Stay updated on trends in the South African renewable energy industry and broader African infrastructure sector, providing insights to guide decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with developers, financiers, and other stakeholders to facilitate transactions and build relationships.
Learning and Growth: Embrace opportunities to deepen your knowledge of the industry, while contributing innovative ideas to the team.
About You
We value individuals who demonstrate curiosity, resilience, and a passion for the African power sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the South African renewable energy landscape and a drive to succeed in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Experience
2–7 years of relevant experience in project development, commercialisation, investment banking, or advisory.
Familiarity with project finance transactions, particularly in power or infrastructure.
Skills
Proficiency in financial modeling. Our models are complex, and proficiency in advanced Excel and VBA is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
Qualifications
A relevant degree in finance, economics, engineering, law, or another related field is preferred. However, we value diverse educational backgrounds if paired with relevant experience.
