Associate – Corporate & Disputes Practice
Location: MG Road, Bengaluru (On-site)

Role Description
VLLP is looking to recruit a highly motivated Associate to join its Bengaluru office.
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our MG Road office. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s Partners and Senior Associates on a broad spectrum of corporate, commercial and dispute resolution matters.
The role involves handling litigation and arbitration matters, advising clients on corporate and commercial transactions, drafting and reviewing legal documentation, conducting legal research, appearing before courts, tribunals and regulatory authorities and interacting regularly with clients, government authorities and other stakeholders.
The position also offers exposure to cross-border transactions, strategic advisory work and business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Represent clients before Courts, Tribunals, NCLT, Arbitrators and other judicial, quasi-judicial and regulatory authorities.
* Draft, review and negotiate contracts, commercial agreements, pleadings, legal notices, opinions and transaction documents.
* Assist in corporate transactions, commercial advisory and regulatory compliance matters.
* Conduct detailed legal research and prepare legal opinions, case briefs and strategy notes.
* Manage client relationships and provide commercially practical legal solutions.
* Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, external counsel and other stakeholders.
* Support Partners in arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
* Participate in business development initiatives, client pitches, networking events and knowledge-building activities.
* Work collaboratively across practice areas while managing multiple assignments under strict timelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
* LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
* Enrolment with the Bar Council of India.
* Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience with a law firm.
* Proven experience in:
* Civil and commercial litigation
* Corporate transactions and business documentation
* Contract drafting and review
* Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution
* Sound understanding of:
* Company Law
* Contract Law
* Arbitration Law
* Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written) is mandatory.
* Excellent client interaction, relationship management and presentation skills.
* Strong legal research, analytical and drafting abilities.
* Ability to independently manage matters while working collaboratively within a team.
* Willingness to travel for client meetings, court appearances and business requirements.
* Understanding of business development activities and relationship-building initiatives.
Preferred
* Experience appearing before the High Courts, NCLT and Commercial Courts.
* Exposure to cross-border transactions or international commercial matters.
* Additional certifications or specialised qualifications will be an added advantage.
