The Day-to-Day Activities:
- Demonstrate strong awareness of regulatory, compliance, and commercial risks, balancing such risks against business objectives while implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
- Assess and interpret the impact of applicable financial laws, regulations, and regulatory developments on business initiatives and product development, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide practical regulatory compliance advice to business stakeholders on matters affecting the licensed entity, ensuring regulatory requirements are effectively incorporated into business operations.
- Partner with business, operations, product, and other internal stakeholders to implement regulatory compliance programs and coordinate regulatory or policy changes across the organization.
- Prepare, coordinate, and manage regulatory submissions to the Bank of Thailand and other relevant regulators, including business scope notifications submitted through the parent bank, payment service notifications, and license or registration applications, while monitoring submission timelines through regulatory approval.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the AML/CFT and KYC/CDD framework, including customer and merchant due diligence (Know Your Customer/Know Your Merchant), sanctions and designated-person screening, customer risk assessment, transaction monitoring, and suspicious transaction escalation and reporting.
- Coordinate and support regulatory examinations, internal audits, and regulatory enquiries, while maintaining compliance policies, training programs, and compliance monitoring and testing activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. A Law degree is an advantage but not required.
- At least 8 years of experience in regulatory compliance, AML/CFT, legal compliance, or related compliance functions within the financial services industry.
- Strong drafting and document review skills, including regulatory submissions, internal policies, procedures, and contractual documents in both Thai and English.
- Excellent command of English and Thai, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment, with excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task.
- Strong working knowledge of Bank of Thailand regulations, the Payment Systems Act, AML/CFT requirements, KYC/CDD obligations, and other relevant financial services regulations. Experience with consumer lending regulations would be an advantage.
- Experience liaising directly with regulators, managing regulatory inspections, or preparing regulatory submissions would be an advantage.
- Proactive, business-oriented, and solution-driven, with strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions in a fast-paced environment.
