We’re a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka looking for an Assistant Manager – Corporate Affairs and Contract Administration for a leading company based in Colombo. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support across commercial contracts, tender processes, corporate affairs and regulatory matters, while working closely with internal stakeholders, external legal advisers, clients and government authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate and manage commercial contracts, legal agreements and other complex legal documentation.
- Prepare, review and provide legal input on tender and procurement documents.
- Provide clear and practical legal opinions, advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Liaise effectively with external legal counsel, government authorities, corporate entities, local clients and international clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract registers, legal records and documentation.
- Advise and support internal departments on contractual, corporate and general legal matters.
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks arising from contracts and business activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations and internal policies.
- Handle sensitive, confidential and commercially significant matters with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
- Support the organisation in managing legal matters and documentation associated with corporate affairs and business operations.
Candidate Profile:
- LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognised university, with the degree completed in English.
- Appointment as a Notary Public, with a valid licence to practise in Colombo.
- Qualified as a Commissioner for Oaths.
- LLM (Master of Laws) will be considered an added advantage.
- 4–6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably gained within a corporate environment or a reputable law firm.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Sinhala.
- Strong expertise in commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, communication and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
