Job Summary:
The Head of Legal will be responsible for managing and overseeing all legal aspects of the organization’s operations. This includes providing strategic legal counsel, managing legal risks, overseeing contracts, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Legal Strategy & Advice:
Develop and implement the organization’s legal strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
Provide legal advice and guidance to the board,
senior management
, and different business units on a wide range of issues.
Lead legal risk management, ensuring that the organization operates in full compliance with laws and regulations.
2.Contract Management:
Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts, including commercial agreements, partnerships, and business transactions.
Ensure that all contractual agreements protect the company’s interests and minimize legal exposure.
3.Compliance & Regulatory:
Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations.
Advise on regulatory changes and their impact on the organization’s operations and business strategies.
4.Dispute Resolution & Litigation:
Manage litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution efforts, either by directly handling cases or by overseeing external legal counsel.
Develop strategies to resolve legal disputes efficiently and effectively.
5.Corporate Governance:
Advise on corporate governance matters, including compliance with board practices, shareholder issues, and director duties.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
6.
Risk Management:
Identify and evaluate potential legal risks facing the organization and proactively take steps to mitigate them.
Work with various departments (e.g., finance, HR, and marketing) to address legal issues that may arise in their respective areas.
7.Policy Development & Training:
Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure
legal compliance
across the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education
: MBA/BBA LLB. or any other relevant qualification from an accredited institution.
Experience :
Minimum 15+ years expertise in legal, with a significant portion in a senior role.
Industry Preference – Business Development/Real Estate/CA firms.
Skills :
In-depth knowledge of corporate law, contract law, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
Strong
