Reporting to the Global Head of Branding & Sourcing Legal, you will:
- Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of a broad range of commercial agreements,
Including
- Professional services agreements
- Consulting agreements
- Technology and SaaS agreements
- Data licensing arrangements
- Enterprise procurement and vendor contracts
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to business and procurement stakeholders, balancing legal risk with practical and commercially sound solutions.
- Provide strategic guidance on contractual terms, legal developments, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies to support business objectives while ensuring compliance.
- Partner with subject matter experts across privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, insurance, and regulatory legal teams to address complex contractual matters.
- Drive continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and contracting processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Manage and coordinate external counsel and other professional advisors as required.
■Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and Law degree (or equivalent)
- Qualification to practice law in Japan
- Minimum 7 years of experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated
Commercial Contracts Gained Through
- A leading Japanese or international law firm, and/or
- An in-house legal department
- Business-level Japanese and English language proficiency
- Exceptional contract drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities while working independently in a dynamic environment
- A practical, solutions-oriented mindset with strong business judgment
■Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the financial services, insurance, banking, or broader regulated industries
- Experience advising multinational organizations on complex vendor, technology, or procurement-related transactions
