About the Team
The Global Partners legal team provides transactional counsel to support Workday’s strategic partnerships, sales, services, and innovation programs. We collaborate with various teams to drive growth, enhance customer experience, and scale our operations towards our revenue goals.
About the Role
The Assistant General Counsel, Global Partners, will support partner program development, draft and negotiate strategic partnership agreements, and optimize our global legal strategies across all segments. The role requires excellent judgment, business acumen, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including leading change initiatives.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with global partner and sales leaders to support growth initiatives
Design legal approaches for new go-to-market models and partnerships
Negotiate technology transactions, including partner programs, data processing, and professional services agreements
Provide strategic legal guidance to internal teams regarding business risks
Implement legal efficiencies to support global partnerships
Develop and improve contract templates and negotiation playbooks; provide internal training
Partner with legal, sales, revenue, privacy, and security teams to facilitate transactions
About You
Basic Qualifications:
J.D. degree and active membership in at least one state bar
10+ years legal experience, including 5+ years in high-value technology transactions
CIPP/E certification or deep understanding of global data privacy laws
Other
Qualifications:
Experience with SaaS, cloud technologies, and enterprise software
Support of a global partner organization
Proven negotiation and drafting skills
Strong communication and leadership abilities
High integrity, professionalism, and curiosity
