With thousands of employees and critical contracts in place across government, infrastructure and commercial sectors, the business is seeking a capable and confident Assistant General Counsel to join its legal team.

About the Role:
This is a varied and commercial in-house legal role, ideal for someone who enjoys high-impact work and cross-functional engagement.
Responsibilities include:
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and re-writing commercial contracts, including high-value government tenders
Managing or assisting with litigation – including personal injury, employment disputes, and subpoenas
Supporting Company Secretary functions, including ASIC updates for the wider group of companies
Advising on employment law and industrial relations issues, including matters involving unions
Shaping internal privacy and operational policies
Providing legal input during corporate activity and acquisitions, including due diligence and customer contract review
Contributing to modern slavery compliance and subcontractor risk management
About You… We’re seeking a senior legal professional who is:
10+ years PAE with experience in commercial law, employment, and privacy
Admitted to practice law in Australia with an unrestricted practicing certificate, and fully up to date with required legal licensing
Background in both private practice and in-house roles (3000+ employees) preferred
Skilled in handling or overseeing litigation (court experience a plus)
Familiar with ASIC reporting, governance, or company secretarial work
Exposure to ASX listing requirements or listed company environments is highly regarded
Practical, confident, and commercially savvy – you are able to build trusted relationships across the business
