Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in managing family law cases, providing essential support throughout the legal process. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of family law practices. The Family Law Paralegal will play a crucial role in ensuring that all case documentation is accurate and timely while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Duties
Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information for legal cases.
Manage legal case files using iManage and ensure all documents are organized and accessible.
Perform thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
Prepare and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and discovery requests.
Provide executive administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
Maintain effective phone etiquette when communicating with clients, courts, and other parties involved in cases.
Assist in estate planning matters as needed, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Collaborate with team members to ensure all deadlines are met and that clients receive exceptional service.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within the legal field.
Strong interviewing skills to effectively gather client information.
Familiarity with legal case management software, particularly iManage.
Excellent clerical skills with attention to detail in document preparation.
Proficient organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Solid understanding of family law principles and procedures is preferred.
Ability to conduct legal research efficiently and effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear interaction with clients and colleagues.
Experience in estate planning is a plus but not required.
