The Felony Conferencing Bureau is seeking an Assistant District Attorney.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Appear and represent the entire office in the handling of the daily court calendars in various criminal and supreme court parts
Effectively conference cases with ADA’s, judges, court attorneys and defense counsel
Manage and complete court paperwork including OTP’s, Forfeiture, Restitution, Notices of Voted Indictment and Waivers of Appeal
Communicate daily with the Grand Jury Bureau with respect to 180.80 matters
Confirm the legality of all proposed pleas and sentences in advance of the calendar appearance
Respond to bail applications
Communicate and advocate on behalf of the office by making a full and accurate record of the proceeding
Assist in the handling of Rendition and Extradition matters
Supervise and train new ADA’s assigned to Supreme Court
Qualifications: Interested applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing and have at least 4 years post-J.D. experience. Applicants must also have:
Extensive experience in handling all aspects of criminal prosecution
Substantial courtroom experience
Knowledge of New York Penal law, VTL and Criminal Procedure Law
Salary range from $94,000 to $134,000
