Lancaster, Trotter, Pickett & Owens, PLLC is a boutique residential and commercial real estate law firm located in Charlotte, NC. We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented licensed attorney to join our busy real estate legal team. This is an entry-level position ideal for a recent law graduate or attorney newly licensed in North Carolina (and open to becoming licensed in South Carolina) who is interested in launching a career in real estate law. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, lenders, brokers, and title companies to facilitate residential and/or commercial real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
-Review, draft, and negotiate real estate documents, including sales contracts, real estate closing documents, and closing statements.
-Conduct and facilitate real estate closings, representing buyers, sellers, and lenders.
-Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties throughout the transaction.
-Review title searches and assist with title curative matters to ensure properties are free and clear of encumbrances.
-Prepare and file legal documents related to real estate transactions, such as deeds, affidavits, and settlement statements.
-Advise clients on legal issues related to property purchases, sales, and financing.
-Perform legal research and analysis as needed to resolve transaction-related issues.
-Maintain organized files and accurate records for all transactions.

Qualifications:
-Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
-Active license to practice law in North Carolina (required).
-No prior real estate experience required; training will be provided.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
-Ability to work both independently and as a part of a collaborative team.
-Professional demeanor and commitment to client service.
-An interest in expanding the firms practice to estate planning.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
