Role Description
The Assistant Company Secretary is a full-time, on-site role based in Galle. This position supports the Company Secretary in ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, maintaining statutory registers and records, and preparing board and shareholder meeting documentation. Daily responsibilities include resolutions, and corporate filings; coordinating with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders; and assisting with company incorporations, share transfers, and annual returns. The role also involves updating corporate governance documentation, organizing and following up on board action items, and supporting internal teams with accurate corporate information and reports.
Qualifications
- Attorney-at-Law with a minimum of two (02) years' experience in the Company Secretarial field
- Chartered/Qualified Company Secretary or currently pursuing the qualification.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise professionally with directors, regulators, and clients.
- Competence in using office productivity software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools) and basic IT systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
- Prior experience in a company secretarial or corporate compliance role, preferably within a professional services or corporate environment, is an advantage.
