EXPERIENCED CIVIL LITIGATION ATTORNEY
Elliott & Davis, PC is seeking a lawyer with 5+ years of experience in some of the following areas on the plaintiff or defense side:
– construction law (residential or commercial),
– home improvement disputes,
– employment law,
– debt collection and defense,
– property damage claims and defenses,
– property damage or sale disputes,
-easements, or
– zoning and property and deed related matters.

We can accomplish this because we can meet most, if not all, of a client’s legal needs by having broad capabilities under one roof (corporate law, immigration, construction law, injury law, etc.). All client legal needs are met by an Attorney with expertise in the requisite area of the law.
To achieve these goals, in addition to the money our lawyers make on their own files, each lawyer is paid 25% on billing on cases he/she refers to another lawyer our the firm.
So, for example, if you mainly do estate administration matters, what happens when one of your clients wants a will or immigration help? Typically, you would send the client elsewhere and (1) have to chase your referral fee (if any); and (2) risk losing all future business from that client. At our firm, we handle construction litigation in house. So, if the matter results in fees of $2,000, you get 25% — or $500 — for forwarding the client’s contact information to one of our construction law litigators, who works with you and down the hall from you.

We greatly value your relationship with your clients. If, for some reason, you need to separate from us, your clients are encouraged to go with you. In return, we only require that our lawyers provide legal services in a reliable, effective manner that preserves our relationships with clients and the community, because the cornerstone of our model is repeat business.
MONETIZING YOUR CONTACT LIST
Lawyers are typically known for handling a few practice areas, at most, and thus your contacts may not call you for cases outside of your expertise, making them go elsewhere – without you even knowing. So, for example, if you handle estate administration, your friends and family do not think to call you for a lucrative car accident or construction law dispute.
With us, you are listed on our website and are encouraged to market yourself as part of a full services firm. We also use social media to tell our existing clients about your practice areas.
MORE CASES; MORE OPTIONS
Our lawyers work under the same model with incentives for cross-referrals. If, for example, you do estate planning and administration, no other lawyer in our firm currently focuses in that area, so the lawyers in our firm would refer the work to you. That said, you have options. You set your own billing rate and remain free to pass on any case.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The position requires the ability to work independently to create work-product using technology. Compensation is based on fee splitting and the position is like a partnership from day one. Title of “partner” is available in this position.
OVERHEAD PROVIDED
Our lawyers practice together under one roof in a true full-service environment. Lawyers are able to work from home or at our offices at Spaces in Bakery Square where there are no assigned offices; rather, there is a “drop in” office for lawyers to come in to, for example, do large printing jobs. There are plenty of shared meeting areas for client meetings and attorney collaboration. We have a receptionist who deposits checks from clients, orders supplies, and scans all incoming postal mail and emails it to each attorney to facilitate work remotely from home or anywhere. Our receptionist also will do printing jobs for you, and with your electronic signature, can mail out your correspondence and enclosure without you even coming into the office.
We also provide access to legal research, supplies, a phone system that can forward calls to your cell, cloud base billing programs, cloud based file storage, and more. Entering new clients into our billing software, billing help, internet, copying, and more. Spaces also provides conference room use in locations throughout Western PA, including downtown Pittsburgh, Monroeville, and Cranberry.
We all operate under one malpractice policy and use one shared IOLTA and operating account, so you can focus more on being a lawyer, and less on the administrative side of things.
