Our Federal Government client based in Brisbane are seeking 2 x Paralegals (APS5) to join them initially on a 6 month contract. There is scope for these 6 months contracts to roll over a further 6 months and to go on longer term. The role will be paid via (us) a recruitment agency and you will be subcontracted to work for the client, as such you will be paid an exceptional hourly rate.
The client is very supportive and offers lots of training and once you are up and running, WFH is also something that can be considered. Progression in these roles is possible and PLT can be supported. The client only wants individuals who can commit to full time work (eg: 5 days per week) there possibly can be flexibility on start/finish time hours some days if you are still studying and have lectures still to attend.
The responsibilities of the Paralegal role will involve supporting Lawyers with their litigious adjudication process. You will be opening files, gathering information/ evidence from clients, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, applying legislation, conducting research and writing and completing legal advices/recommendations with regards to adjudications.
This role would suit someone who is a 2nd or 3rd year law student OR someone who has just finished studying their Bachelor of Law / PLT. It is a mandatory requirement of the role that you are currently an Australian citizen. It is also mandatory that you possess at least one years previous work experience ideally from a legal office support role in a law firm.
