The Opportunity

Our client is a community focused Federal Government Agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS5 Legal Operations Support Officer to join the Legal Practice & Capability in ensuring sound strategic and operational support to the Agency’s legal function for the Chief Counsel and General Counsel Divisions.

6-month initial hourly rate contract offering APS5 rates of $55.24 + Super. To be based out of clients Richmond or Geelong office in a hybrid (2 days WFH) work environment.

There is a 6 month further extension available for this role.

About the role

The APS5 Legal Practice and Capability will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Understanding and working within the NDIS and ART legislative frameworks, ensuring adherence with statutory timeframes.

Engaging with key stakeholders, including the Tribunal, internal and external lawyers and case managers, achieving work area and Agency goals by providing administrative and other support.

Researching and assessing business system information, creating ART case summaries or work area documents including draft responses for ART correspondence, complaints and FOI requests.

Managing and completing administrative tasks in fast paced working environment.

Contributing towards the continuous improvement of processes and procedural documents impacting the various functions within the team by providing feedback and suggestions.

Essential Criteria

Australian Citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position

Prior background with law highly desirable, i.e paralegal, legal administrator or a law degree
