The International Government Affairs (IGA) team works to build a supportive policy environment and strengthen stakeholder understanding of Alibaba’s businesses. This role will support government affairs and policy engagement activities in Korea.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of IGA Korea, this role will support policy monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and internal coordination across Alibaba’s core businesses, including e-commerce, logistics, and cloud. This position is suitable for candidates who are looking to build their career in government affairs, public policy, and corporate communications in a fast-moving global technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monitoring of regulatory and policy developments related to e-commerce, platform regulation, data protection, AI, cloud, and competition policy
- Assist with stakeholder engagement activities involving government agencies, the National Assembly, industry associations, and external partners
- Support preparation of policy analysis, briefing materials, meeting notes, and internal reports
- Coordinate with internal business, legal, compliance, PR, and regional teams
- Track policy trends and help manage issue-based communications and projects
- Support organization of external meetings, events, and industry engagement activities
Minimum Qualifications
• 1–5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, consulting, legal, communications, public affairs, or related fields
• Strong interest in Korea’s regulatory and policy environment
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Professional working proficiency in Korean and English (English speaking ability is required)
• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset
Preferred Qualifications
• Mandarin proficiency is a plus
• Experience or interest in e-commerce, technology, platform, logistics, or digital policy sectors
• Experience supporting external stakeholder engagement or policy research
• Strong writing and presentation skills
• Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively across teams
