Legal Assistant/Litigation Practice — Atlanta GA

A prestigious law firm has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant in its Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will excel at teamwork, initiative, work ethic, flexibility, and attention to detail, while demonstrating a strong customer-service attitude. More complex tasks may be assigned under supervision and with appropriate training.

Responsibilities:

Assist attorneys with administrative functions such as preparing engagement letters, opening new matters, submitting conflict searches, drafting documents and correspondence, time entry, and managing CLE requirements.
Work closely with other Legal Assistants to ensure departmental needs are met.
Coordinate client invoice pre-bills, make billing edits, and submit final invoices.
Provide back-up assistance to other Legal Assistants, Paralegals, and colleagues.
Format, edit, print, scan, and file documents.
Investigate inquiries and provide timely responses.
Prepare and submit expense reports.
Handle e-filing in various State and Federal Courts.
Coordinate logistical preparations for meetings and conference calls, including reservations, meal orders, technology needs, and reminders.
Liaise with internal departments on behalf of attorneys.
Complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Law firm experience required; 5+ years of recent litigation experience preferred.
Significant experience with trial preparation and support.
Experience coordinating and scheduling depositions, mediations, and client meetings, as well as preparing subpoenas, drafting complaints, and filing discovery requests.
Experience with Aderant financial systems preferred.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, and DocuSign.
Working knowledge of FileSite/iManage preferred.
Strong administrative skills, including calendaring, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination.
Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and time management.
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities successfully to meet deadlines.
Strong client service skills and ability to follow client-specific protocols.
Professional demeanor with an enthusiastic attitude.
Current commission as a Notary Public in Georgia (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
