The Feller Group, P.C. is seeking an Associate Attorney with strong litigation and in-court experience, along with a solid background in discovery compliance. This role primarily involves managing both contested and uncontested probate matters, estate administration, and guardianships, but experience in estate planning is not required, as we are happy to provide training. The ideal candidate should have significant court and litigation experience, with a proven track record in discovery compliance and Surrogate’s Court practice.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload from start to finish, overseeing legal compliance in probate and administration cases, guiding clients through guardianship matters, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and ensuring the completion of all necessary legal processes. The role also involves client development and contributing to the firm’s marketing and educational initiatives.

Compensation:
$140,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee both contested and uncontested probate and administration cases, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and guiding clients through the complex Surrogate’s Court process.
Handle Guardianship matters efficiently, ensuring that all required legal steps are taken in the best interests of the wards.
Guide clients through the probate, estate administration, and guardianship processes, ensuring assets are distributed according to the law and the client wishes.
Proactively and independently manage a caseload, working cases from beginning to end.
Conduct legal research and analysis on probate and trust administration issues, providing insightful guidance and recommendations to clients.
Draft and review legal documents, such as petitions, notices, and trust agreements, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Witness and notarize the signing of documents, stamp and seal, finalize, summarize, upload, and deliver casework, including a review of next steps and follow-up to ensure completion of all outstanding tasks.
Participate in new client development, creation of marketing/educational materials, and building opportunities for growth and improvement of the firm.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the New York State Bar.
Valid Driver’s License.
At least 2 years of in-court litigation experience, with hands-on discovery compliance experience
Must have excellent writing, research, analytical, and organizational skills, and be a motivated self-starter.

Compensation, Benefits, And Schedule
The typical schedule for this role is 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility for client workshop presentations
The base salary range is anywhere from $80,000 to $140,000 annually, dependent upon experience and qualifications
Competitive base salary with performance-based compensation for total On Target Earnings of $140,000 annually.

This is a full-time hybrid position with your in-office schedule being based on client demand for in-person meetings, and department coverage needs
