The Opportunity:
As a Litigation Docket Specialist, you will be responsible for processing requests, entering deadlines in the Firm’s docketing system, preparing reports and answering procedural questions. You will also contribute to e-filings, court runs, opening mail and assisting the team with workload. In this position, you will be part of a regional and national docketing team that provides support to the firm’s Chicago and other domestic offices.
The Day-To-Day:
On any given day, you will be working with your colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will:
Log and process all docket requests, using the firm’s docketing software
Log and process all litigation docketing requests
Respond to case teams to ensure that docket entries are accurate
Assist in the investigation of docket issues
Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys
Participate in quality control and review of docket data entry
Participate in data clean up initiatives
Research court case information to maintain an accurate record
Abide by court rules on how to electronically file documents in federal court using the cm/ecf system. When needed, file documents electronically after hours.
e-File documents in state and appellate courts
Assist with special projects as assigned by the regional coordinator and the Director and Managing Attorney, Docket
Answer procedural questions related to date calculations and filing requirements
You Have:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
5 – 7 years of experience as a docket specialist. Ideally, with exposure to litigation in a law firm environment.
Prior experience working in a law firm environment is preferred.
Experience with CompuLaw is a plus.
Proficient with rules based docketing
The ability to interpret and analyze information
Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.
Proficient in electronic court filing in both state and federal courts is required.

Location Specific Language:
The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000 annually, which is based on a 35 hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Chicago. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
