Overview
Administrative Assistant – Spotsylvania Towne Centre Jobs in Fredericksburg, VA at Cafaro
We are a targeted, unique boutique law firm representing the multi-family housing (apartment) industry with all sorts of wide-ranging cases. Our focus is litigation and adversarial matters in both Courts and administrative forums, from major Fair Housing discrimination defense and litigation to evictions. The firm’s non-litigation matters are also limited to the multi-family housing industry. For more on the firm, view the “Join Our Team” page of our website www.wilhiteassoc.com. We also have an exciting online and live national training company (www.playtowinseminars.com) for the apartment industry. Our founder has practiced law since 1984 and started this law firm three decades ago in 1994. Even with decades of stable substantial growth with major clients, the firm remains its traditional small, nimble, aggressive law firm. Our hub is an upscale, contemporary professional office in Carmel, a few blocks from City Center. We prefer applicants with short commutes like near Hamilton County. Our culture is to “Play To Win” and “Failure is not an Option”. Vince Lombardi said “winning isn’t everything, but wanting to win is” – exactly! Only Lombardi’s will fit well on our team – which we think is very fun!
To say we have a “fast-paced environment” is an understatement. The apartment industry has constant high-volume needs and emergencies, 24/7. Events at apartments don’t stop when most of the world shuts down. Even beyond minimum requirements of above-average word processing speed and efficiency, a successful candidate needs excellent time management and organizational skills to compress a large volume of challenging tasks into a compressed short amount of time with deadlines. The great news is: The days fly by!
We prefer someone with a bachelor’s degree and with some office experience. Law firm experience not required. We will invest to train an intelligent self-starter candidate who has an instinctive “failure is not an option” drive. Position requires people skills to both develop client relationships and deal with adverse parties. In addition to written professional training materials and outlines, continual career development involves regular interactive sessions typically at a dry erase board on concepts and procedures. You should not be hesitant in the least because you think your experience or degree is not law related. Neither matter. What does matter is having passion, tenacity and a willingness to learn.
There is a 45-day probationary period with bi-weekly meetings for you and the firm to evaluate each other. If mutual desire is to remain at initial responsibilities, that is fine. If there is mutual interest, there are also options for progression to include focus on an area(s) like specialized areas or case manager discussed at months 3, 6 and 12.
Compensation is above market. Team members have NDA’s but you may mail email [email protected] to send compensation history/minimums before deciding whether to apply if you wish.
