The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Senior Legal Analyst that is an experienced paralegal who provides high level legal assistance and analytical support to the attorneys and the Assistant Chief Counsel in the most complex areas of law practice.

Under the direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel, the Senior Legal Analyst independently performs a wide variety of paralegal duties assigned to the Corporate Affairs Bureau I. These duties may include the following: Performing legal research assignments on substantive and procedural issues; regularly and independently conducting detailed reviews and assessing legal issues to be reviewed by the supervisors; assists in drafting pleadings for attorney review; assisting with the production of documents in response to subpoenas, discovery and Public Records Act requests.

Working Conditions
The incumbent will work in a high-rise office environment
Eligible for telework in accordance with CDIs Telework policy. Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.
Use a computer extensively to prepare documents and reports.
Occasional travel may be required within and/or outside the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.).
