Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for an IP Intake/Docket Specialist open in our Chicago office. We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.
Position Summary:
The IP Intake/Docket Specialist is responsible for handling the Intellectual Property onboarding and docketing for a multi-national law firm, working directly with IP attorneys, foreign filing specialist(s), and administrative assistants to clear dockets, generate reports, and ensure all deadlines and reminders are fulfilled. This position will support all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent and/or trademark docketing. Experience with copyrights, domain names, and TTAB are a plus. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for daily maintenance of the firm’s docketing system
Processes electronic mail received from USPTO and foreign patent offices
Ensures all docketing items are timely and accurately processed in accordance with firm policies
Assists the various practice groups with the intake of new IP files
Assists with client onboarding, including review of docket reports and mapping of patent/trademark families
Performs other special projects within the department as assigned
Skills & Competencies:
Highly motivated, self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision, as well as take a proactive approach in being team-oriented
High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively
Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and effectively prioritize multiple tasks
Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor, and presentation
Candidate should be flexible to work overtime as needed
Qualifications & Prior Experience:
Five plus years of substantive IP docketing experience at a major law firm or corporation required
Extensive knowledge of U.S. and foreign patents/trademarks, must exhibit strong substantive knowledge of docketing requirements
College graduate preferred
Anaqua experience a plus
The expected pay range for this position is:
41.03 to 47.18 per hour
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
