Job Summary
The Houston office of Brown Sims is seeking a Paralegal for its busy Insurance Defense team.
Experience working as a paralegal is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train entry-level paralegals. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe. Must be highly organized, have excellent research and writing skills, with emphasis on attention to detail, as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment and think creatively. Must have the ability to draft case analyses, summarize medical records and be familiar with medical terminology, prepare basic Excel spreadsheets, and manage deadlines. Ability to communicate, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, is required.
Skills
Preferably at least 1+ years of experience working with lawyers with case-related tasks or client-related tasks.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook email/calendar, and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience working with a document management system.
Knowledge of technical and communications skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands.
Superb attention to detail, grammar, and punctuation, and the ability to articulate thoughts efficiently.
Self-motivated.
