Company Description CHRDRI is the part of The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of Bulgaria.
Role Description The Главен Юрисконсулт (Chief Legal Counsel) is a full-time on-site role based in Sofia, Kremikovci district. The role involves providing expert legal advice on labor, social policy, and administrative law, drafting and reviewing legislation, regulations, contracts, and internal acts, and ensuring compliance with national and EU legal frameworks. The Chief Legal Counsel prepares legal opinions, participates in working groups and committees, and represents CHRDRI in legal proceedings and administrative disputes when required. Daily tasks include interpreting laws and regulations, supporting policy development from a legal perspective, coordinating with other public institutions, and contributing to the improvement of legal procedures and documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Bulgarian administrative, labor, and social security law, including practical experience in applying relevant national and EU legislation.
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and interpreting legal documents such as laws, regulations, contracts, and internal policies.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess legal risks and propose balanced, lawful solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bulgarian; working proficiency in English and/or another EU language is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with public institutions, and manage multiple legal tasks under deadlines.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to principles of equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and public service.
- Master’s degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent) and eligibility to practice law in Bulgaria; prior experience in public administration or governmental institutions is a strong asset.
- Good computer literacy, including proficiency with legal research tools and standard office software.
